Dendreon Corp. reported a loss of 69 cents per share for the first quarter of 2011. The loss includes expenses related to stock-based compensation but excludes other special items. In the year ago period Dendreon posted a loss of 94 cents per share.
Dendreon began to realize sales from Provenge in the first quarter of 2011 and posted total revenue of $28.1 million.
Dendreon reports that sales of Provenge totaled $15 million during April 2011.
Dendreon reiterated its forecast and estimates that total revenue for 2011 will range from $350–$400 million.
